Grandma Connie’s Banana Bread is always a favorite! Perfect for anytime. Don’t forget to spread some butter on it to really heighten this delicious bread.
- 1 cup of sugar
- ½ cup of butter flavored Crisco Shortening
- 2 large eggs
- 3-4 ripened bananas
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat the oven to 350F.
In a bowl, mash up bananas. Add sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla (wet ingredients) to the same bowl.
In a separate bowl, add and mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt (dry ingredients).
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix together. Stir in walnuts.
Grease a bread pan with cooking spray, and pour the mixture into the bread pan. Bake for one hour. Let bread cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing. Best served with butter.
